Another movie for Katherine Heigl this year…

Last October, we brought you news that Ashton Kutcher was mixing a little more bullets and blood with his broad comedy with “Five Killers.” Now he’s got a costar who is clearly itching for a chance to fire a gun, as Variety reports that Katherine Heigl has just signed on to help him fend off those five killers.

The initial storyline was an action comedy centered on a former hit man whose ugly past came back to finish him off. Now the film is being touted as a thriller, but has added the distinctly unthrilling element of romantic comedy, as Heigl will be playing a single girl who meets Mr. Right while on vacation.

She marries him, only to have newlywed bliss shattered when she and the mister discover that their neighbors are assassins hired to kill them. So, in other words, they’re remaking “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” already.

“Killers” will not only keep Heigl in the comfort zone of romance, Mr. Right, and will-she-leave “Grey’s Anatomy” rumors, but it will reunite her with director Robert Luketic. The pair just filmed “The Ugly Truth” last year, so we can assume they got along well. Filming begins next month in Atlanta and the South of France.

Katherine and Josh were spotted going out at Rose restaurant, yesterday. It must have been a romantic evening for them, as Katherine’s holding a rose in her hand.

Katherine and T.R. are staying

Though reports are running rampant that Katherine Heigl and T.R. Knight are planning to leave “Grey’s Anatomy,” the show’s creator Shonda Rhimes said it isn’t so.
While chatting with press at last night’s NAACP Image Awards, Rhimes was asked about the story and responded, “That was a very interesting rumor. And it’s not true.”

Shonda continued, “That was absolutely taken out of context (referring to a quote from James Pickens Jr). Things happen, and … I think rumors become fact very easily. And you know I don’t like to tell you what’s going to happen on the show – but that is a rumor.”

Pickens took it from there, telling press, “We’ve been living with these rumors for a long time. When the question was posed to me, I was more trying to congratulate Katie and T.R. on whatever they were going to do. But yeah, I don’t have any special info about it either way.”

I’m afraid I’ve some horrible news. Katherine and her bff T.R. Knight are said to be quiting Grey’s Anatomy. These two actors are the only reason I watch the show, without them it would be so lame..

Katherine Heigl and T.R. Knight will soon take off their scrubs for good, their Grey’s Anatomy costar confirms.

When Us Weekly asked James Pickens Jr. (a.k.a. Grey‘s Dr. Richard Webber) on February 7 if Heigl is leaving the medical drama, he said, “Yes, she is.” And he continued, “Wherever Katherine goes, I wish her nothing but the best.”

Following Heigl, 30, out the door?

Her outspoken BFF, Knight, 35. “He’s going too,” Pickens told Us at the NAACP Awards luncheon in Beverly Hills. “He just wanted to pursue other career paths.”

“He complains to Katherine all the time,” a set source has said of Knight (with Heigl). “The energy on set will be much better when he’s gone.”

Sources close to the actors concur.

“Katherine is ready to move on to the next chapter,” says a set source. And Knight is “not shy about telling people” he wants out of his contract, another insider told Us in December.

But now it seems they’re finally getting their wishes.

A source tells Us Knight has had numerous talks with executive producer Shonda Rhimes, and that the “writers are scrambling to find a believable exit for George, one that would leave the door open for him to come back someday.”

Both Heigl’s and Knight’s reps had no comment, and ABC and ABC Studios could not confirm the departures.
